RoboDK, speaking to The Robot Report, argues that a digital twin enables manufacturers to evaluate robot options and simulate applications virtually before making capital commitments. Using a digital twin can reveal integration challenges, cycle times, and workspace requirements early in the project lifecycle, helping teams compare hardware and layouts without physical prototypes.

RoboDK also cautions that a digital twin does not necessarily substitute for a systems integrator. Instead, it serves as a planning and validation tool that can de-risk decisions and improve collaboration with integrators and other stakeholders during proposal and deployment phases.
